Brian Matvey

I am a data analytics professional with over ten years of experience translating raw data into actionable insights that drive confident decisions. I've worked in analytics for the higher education, consumer packaged goods, and autonomous vehicle (self driving) industries. I am at my best creating meaningful metrics, visualizations, statistical models and interactive dashboards. My professional interests often put me at the intersection where business executives and IT meet; translating business needs into requirements and ultimately data solutions.

After business hours, you can find me working in the burgeoning esports industry. I've helped operate some of the biggest video game tournaments over the past eleven years while watching the industry grow from hotel ballrooms to sold out arenas. I've had the privilege to work with esports pioneers, like Major League Gaming, and industry titans like Activision Blizzard. I also find time to talk to classrooms about esports and have provided consulting services to higher education institutions and businesses.

I am excited about self driving vehicles, analytics, esports and consulting opportunities.

What I Do

Analytics

Descriptive analytics > Diagnostic analytics > Predictive analytics > Prescriptive analytics. From Excel pivot tables to dashboards, I do everything from means to machine learning models.

Autonomous Vehicles

I lead Supply Chain Analytics at Cruise, a leader in the self driving car industry. I previously led Fleet Ops Analytics at Ford/Volkswagen's self driving car startup Argo AI.

Esports

I'm a veteran esports tournament administrator with eleven years of experience and over 60 major events under my belt. I helped operate massive LAN events before LoL, SC2, or CoD had publisher supported leagues.

Consulting

From analytics to esports and from non-profits to private businesses, I can help translate trends into insights and business opportunities.
